Alum Rock Counseling Center’s 2022 Toy Giveaway is just around the corner! For well over a decade, many of the youth and families served by ARCC have come to count on the support and generosity of our donors to help get them through the holidays. Providing hundreds of youth and caregivers with gifts and other critically needed items, ARCC’s Holiday Appeal is committed to once again giving families a reason to smile and celebrate this December.
Many of the youth & caregivers in the communities served by ARCC are still recovering from the challenges they faced during the pandemic – physically, emotionally and financially. While we understand that the road to recovery will be gradual, we also know that the little bit of relief we can provide at the holidays truly matters to our families. Here’s what one father had to say about the gifts he received last year:
During this past year I learned about my faults and how to fix them. I learned to be a dad that my son is counting on. Plus I just finished one semester at Mission College and earned 16 credits with all A’s. But money is limited and times are hard. The gifts from ARCC mean the world to my family, especially when we know there are people out there who put the time and effort out to care for others and don’t ask for anything in exchange. The gifts are especially important because, although everyone says it’s the thought that counts, it’s really the smile on my son’s face when he sees his new toy car that warm my heart. It’s seeing my son’s happiness. A little goes a long way.
