On Friday, June 2, over 100 people attended Alum Rock Counseling Center’s Clinic Grand Re-Opening & Open House Event. This included representatives from San Jose City Council, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, CA State Assembly, CA State Senate, SJ Police Department, the District Attorney’s Office, Department of Family and Children’s Services, Santa Clara County Public Health, the County Office of Education plus a whole host of fellow community-based organizations. Several elected officials personally attended including San Jose City Council Members Bien Doan and Peter Ortiz, as well as CA State Assembly Member Ash Kalra who brought a commendation to honor the critical behavioral health services ARCC provides to vulnerable youth and families throughout Santa Clara County.
ARCC staff led tours of the newly renovated space and shared information about ARCC’s programs & services. It was a cool bonus that guests were able to chat with muralist, Carlos Rodriguez, who happened to be putting the finishing touches on ARCC’s brand new mural that day. The mural can now be seen on the side of ARCC’s building, located at the corner of East Santa Clara and 26th Street in East San Jose.
